Tip
US/Canada/UK/EU/Australia: 90 days visa-free on arrival. Just passport valid 6+ months. Extension reality: No official extension process. You can overstay and pay a fine when leaving (around 15,000 ARS at airport, prices change). Many nomads do this for 30-60 days extra. Technically illegal but zero enforcement for tourists. Visa runs: Ferry to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay (15,000 ARS round trip) technically resets your 90 days. Immigration knows this trick — sometimes works, sometimes they give you 30 days instead of 90 on return. Maximum twice per year. Working remotely: Grey area — not explicitly illegal for tourists working for non-Argentine companies. Thousands do it openly. If paranoid, don't mention work at immigration. Student visa: Spanish schools offer student visas for 60,000 ARS/month including classes. Popular workaround for longer stays. Rentista visa: Requires proving 2,500,000 ARS/month passive income (~$2300). Most nomads can't qualify. Digital nomad visa: Doesn't exist yet despite years of promises. Immigration office: Av. Antártida Argentina 1355. Bring patience and snacks — minimum 4-hour wait for anything. Document copies: Keep passport scan in cloud, carry photocopy. Police rarely check ID in tourist areas. Overstay consequences: Just the fine. No ban, no deportation unless you commit crimes. Many expats overstay for years.
