The historic neighbourhood market reopened in 2022 after a four-year restoration, and it's one of the rare cases where the renovation actually worked. Two floors of fishmongers, butchers, flower stalls, cheese vendors, and small lunch counters where porto locals actually shop. Mornings (9am-12pm) are when locals come; afternoons skew tourist. A great half-day if you want to understand the city beyond Ribeira. What to order: A bifana from one of the upstairs counters and a glass of vinho verde — under €5 total.
