A one-hour group surf lesson with wetsuit costs around R350 — multiple schools operate on the beach and walk-ins are generally fine outside peak summer weekends. The Muizenberg neighbourhood has a laid-back, slightly bohemian character worth exploring after — good cafés, independent bookshops, antique shops along Main Road.
